Cold and hot vulcanized splicing:

Two separate methods that are used for joining conveyor belts together. Both methods utilize chemicals and heat, to create a durable bonding. Pressure and heat are used to fuse belt ends together, this is called hot vulcanization, while the other method that is called cold vulcanization employs adhesive to the ends that cure at room temperature.

Hot vulcanization gives superior strength and is very durable. It is best used for high-tension applications with demanding conditions. Their resistance to environmental factors like temperature variations and moisture are much better. This type of splicing involves removing the belt and using specialized equipment, it is much more time consuming.

Cold vulcanization is much easier to implement; it requires less specialized equipment. It is a very practical option where there is no power or you are in a remote location. This type of splicing may not have the same strength as hot vulcanization, and requires a longer curing time.

Mechanical splicing:

Two fibre strands are carefully aligned at each end then held together with a mechanical housing. This is not a permanent bond. Optical adhesive or index matching gel can be used between the fibre tips.  This method of splicing does not need specialized equipment, and it is simpler and faster. Making it cost effective. Mechanical splicing may not be suitable for high tensile strength and can be damaged or become unreliable.

Belt tracking:

Once a conveyor belt is aligned and installed belt tracking is the ability to maintain the desired path of the conveyor belt. New metal conveyor belts that are installed don't always track the same as the old belt, that is why they must make sure the new belt is tracking correctly.

Belt tracking repairs:

The bolts are loosened on the rollers and frames. Then the rollers are adjusted to align the belt correctly to make sure the conveyor belt runs centrally on the rollers.  Finally, the bolts are tightened when the conveyor belt is aligned to secure the adjustment.

Underground mine belt reclamation:

After a mine’s closure the areas are restored to a natural or usable state. The focus being on minimizing environmental impacts and promoting economic and social benefits. The process includes assessing, auditing and continuing monitoring social and ecological risks. This usually involves the reclaiming of conveyor belts in the mine.

Belts are removed and potentially repurposed again. Underground mines utilize mostly flat belts and those with specialized patterns. These are used for transporting various materials on inclines. These belts usually have fire-resistant properties.

Pulley lagging:

Rubber or ceramic material is bonded to the shell of the conveyor pulley to increase the friction and the protection for both the belt and the pulley. This material reduces belt slippage, enhances grip and prevents damage that might be caused by debris trapped between the belt and the pulley.

Rubber Lagging is wear resistant, offers good traction and is affordable, where ceramic lagging provides better wear resistance and longer life compared to rubber lagging. Ceramic lagging is used in harsh conditions. There is the option of plain or grooves rubber lagging for different applications.

Pulley lagging reduces unplanned downtime by preventing belt damage and slippage, associated with belt repairs or replacements. This also improves conveyor efficiency with better grip and protection.

Rubber lining:

Some of the severe abrasive and chemical environments use rubber lining for corrosion protection. Butyl and natural rubber linings are the optimum choice and can withstand high-concentration acids. Equipment with rubber lining increases wear life and is highly resistant to fine and abrasive materials. Rubber lining can be applied to hydro cyclones, pipes, hoses, valves, pumps, tanks, hoppers, chutes and other processing equipment.

Abrasion resistant liners:

This is the ability of the rubber to withstand abrasive wear and repeated impact, providing protection against scraping, scuffing, grinding and sliding among other motions.
